An owner/manager of a large shopping mall was working on some last minute financial reports for her board of directors when she could not access any of her accounting information. She had failed to back up her data. In her desperation, she contacted the IT department of a national retail store who told her it would be at least a week before they could get to her system and even then all they could do would be to restore her applications. She contacted Equitas who worked with her to analyze her hard drives to find hidden backups of her data and programs. Working through the night, we were able to restore the operating system and key pieces of information and the financial applications to get her reports out in time for the meeting.
A teacher at a local college had her hard drive crash and lost her operating system, applications, lesson plans, etc. She had no backup but needed the system up and going as soon as possible. Equitas worked with her to get her operating system and applications restored within a day, over a weekend, so that she could enter information from her printed notes. We then created an inexpensive yet comprehensive automated backup system that protects her system, applications and dynamic data from similar future events.
A suburban medical equipment provider asked us to provide a backup and recovery system since the one provided by their equipment supplier was inadequate for the task. It also required a complicated manual effort to maintain. We implemented a cost effective and simple system that covered data from multiple users in the office along with all of their key applications. Several weeks after we completed the project, one of the accounting staff accidentally deleted a critical file. Using our restoration procedures they were able to recover the file in a matter of minutes, saving them hours of re-keying.
