Computer Forensics
Computer forensics is the application of the scientific method (propose hypothesis and search for contradicting evidence) to digital media in order to establish factual information for judicial review. This process often involves investigating computer systems to determine whether they are being or have been used for illegal or unauthorized activities. Computer forensics experts primarily investigate data storage devices, either fixed devices such as hard disks or removable devices like tapes, CDs, and solid state memory devices like flash drives.
