IT Infrastructure Services
This group of services involves advising, implementing, and maintaining the hardware and software "base" that a company needs in order to operate its key applications. This includes the servers, desktop PCs, laptops, networking equipment, operating systems, and Internet connections on top of which the "real" work gets done. This work is performed by applications such as accounting systems, customer relationship management systems, order processing systems, document management systems, faxing servers, and Web portals.
Specific services include:
- Designing, planning, and implementing:
- Internal networks
- Connections to the Internet
- Secure connections between locations across the internet
- Telephone systems
- VOIP Planning and configuration
- Server set-up and configuration (e.g. e-mail and database)
- Planning and selecting software to best advance business purpose (financial, accounting, payroll, operations, sales support)
- Designing, planning, and implementing wireless networks and associated security Securely connecting remote locations
- Connecting partners such as customers and vendors
- Enabling secure remote access for home-based and mobile workers
- Designing and implementing desktop and laptop deployments
- Maintaining IT infrastructure to keep a business' computer resources up and going and responding when there is a problem or issue. It also includes providing preventative maintenance.
